Littlecook and Botone Jr. - Songs of the Native American Church From Oklahoma, Vol 1
$ 9.99
This recording of 48 Native American Church Songs of Oklahoma are sung by four of the members of the local Ponca Chapter of Oklahoma. Oliver Littlecook, Steven Littlecook, and OJ Littlecook come from the Ponca and Otoe tribes of Oklahoma. Perry Botone Jr. is of the Otoe/Kiowa tribes. All have strong traditional background within the Native American Church, and whose fathers, uncles, brothers and grandfathers and extended relatives were all members.
Since its formal inception as a Church earlier this century in Oklahoma, the Native American Church has grown rapidly, and is still growing today all across Indian Country. However, there is still an urgent need to fill our churches with members of our Indian communities all across this land, especially with the growing problems that are facing our Indian youth and families today. It is with this in mind, that we bring you these songs in hopes of inspiring our Native American brothers and Sisters. We hope you enjoy these songs of the Native American Church of Oklahoma.
